Your Data is Safe: rivva's Approach to Privacy & Permissions
Complete transparency on how rivva protects your data, what permissions we need, and how you stay in control. GDPR-compliant privacy explained in plain English.
We get it. Productivity apps ask for a lot of access—your calendar, your email, your sleep data. That can feel invasive.
So let’s be completely transparent about what rivva does with your data, how we protect it, and how you stay in control.
Is your data safe?
Yes. 100%.
Your data stays with you. We don’t sell it. We don’t share it. And everything is protected.
Privacy and safety aren’t just features for us at rivva—they’re non-negotiables. At any point, you can revoke rivva’s access to your data.
How are we using your data and keeping it safe?
Your data is personal, and protecting it isn’t just a checkbox for us. It’s a promise.
Here’s how we’re doing that:
We keep it lean We only ask for data that’s absolutely necessary to help rivva work the way it should.
We keep it safe Everything is encrypted—both when it’s being sent and when it’s stored. We also have guardrails like access controls, audit logs, and ongoing security checks to keep things tight.
We keep you in control Our privacy policy is written in plain, non-lawyer English. You can also delete your data anytime from Settings.
Is rivva GDPR compliant?
Yes, 100%.
We take data privacy seriously, not just because we have to, but because we believe you should always know what’s happening with your data and be in control of it.
We’re fully GDPR compliant and only collect what we need to help rivva work the way it should for you.
You can view our Privacy Policy anytime—it’s written in plain English (no legal jargon). And we make it easy to update your settings or delete your data whenever you want.
What permissions do you really need to give?
To give you the best experience, rivva needs access to:
Your calendar So we can help you schedule smartly and avoid conflicts
Your sleep data So we can forecast your energy and suggest better timing for work
Your email So we can extract tasks on your behalf and surface hidden work
Notifications So we can gently nudge you when it matters
You can grant or revoke any of these permissions at any time.
Why does rivva need access to your calendar?
rivva uses your calendar to help you plan your day in a way that actually works.
We look at your meetings and free time so we can recommend the best slots for deep work, breaks, and everything in between.
We won’t move anything around without your permission.
Why does rivva need access to your emails?
rivva uses your email to find actionable tasks so you don’t have to hunt through your inbox.
It looks for:
Follow-ups
Mentions
Approvals
Other items that need your attention
Then brings them into Inbox for you to review.
We only read emails to detect tasks. Nothing is moved or sent without your permission. You stay in control of what becomes a task and when it gets scheduled.
Why does rivva ask about your sleep?
Your sleep sets the pace for your energy the next day.
rivva uses sleep data to guide what kind of work you should be doing (or not doing). The goal is to help you work with your energy, not against it.
You can either:
Log your sleep manually
Sync it from your Apple/Android device
Can you revoke access after granting it?
Absolutely. You’re in full control.
If at any point you no longer want rivva to access your calendar, email, or health data, you can turn it off.
From rivva: Go to Settings → Permissions and toggle off Calendar, Email, or Health data access.
From your device:
Calendar: Settings → rivva → Calendars → Disconnect
Email: Settings → rivva → Emails → Disconnect
Health data: Open the Health App → Sharing → Apps → rivva, and adjust what you no longer want to share.
rivva will adapt and keep supporting your flow—just with a little less personal context.
Is rivva watching or listening to you?
No.
rivva doesn’t listen through your mic or access your camera.
The AI only works with the info you choose to share—your calendar, tasks, mood, energy check-ins, and sleep data.
Nothing creepy. Just context to support you better.
